Far from home.

Just a bit of fun one day at the hostel.

Dolores Park.

Bottomless mimosa’s on a Sunday always render me a drunkard in Dolores Park.  It’s actually gorgeous and fun there. Shame it’s a haze for me. Must do better!

Revolving door.

A visit to the MoMA to see the Francesca Woodman exhibition shed light on her wonderful work. I felt inspired but her life story is sad. Committing suicide at 21, I felt that the world only saw a glimpse of her true potential. I love the light and darkness of this shot taken at the entrance/exit. I’ll let you draw your own analogy.

A good day to recall. The marathon.

On a miserable day like today it’s nice to remember a day when the city was full of excitement, energy and achievement. Well done again Vivo!

Sing a song of protest.

And then it was time to go home.

Band.

Exuberant from their performance, I could feel the energy from the other side of the street, so I rocked up and asked them for a shot. They wanted to line up and give me the pose, you know the one but I convinced one of the mums that it was best for me to just mingle. I think this captures a more natural feel.

Guess who came to town?

Yup, as the story says.

BART protests.

The BART protests at Powell station were another example of people coming together and standing up for what they believe to be fair.

The protesters were a mix of militants (as always) and those wanting to inform. Of course there was a fun element too. Their voice was heard and so was the chant of “No justice, no peace’.

There was an undeniable feeling that it was the passengers that bore the brunt of the inconvenience. Who could travel when the gates were shut, let alone leave the station.

Is a small inconvenience worth it for a voice to be heard?
